India · The Heart of India

The journey’s concept

The journey begins on the South Goa coast, with time for your group's activities. Then the rhythm changes: Ujjain, Bhopal, Sanchi Stupa, the Udayagiri Caves and Bhimbetka's ancient paintings. The final section leads to temples and ghats on the Narmada in Omkareshwar and Maheshwar.

For communities wishing to combine practice and relaxation with an enriching journey through Central India. The beach and cultural sections can vary in length; the sequence below is a proposed itinerary.

THREE REASONS TO CHOOSE THIS ROUTE

What makes this journey special

01

Yoga and the ocean at the start

Several days in South Goa allow classes, seminars or meetings for your school before the transfers begin. The group leader determines the practice format; beach relaxation remains a distinct part of the journey.

02

Several eras of Central India

From Ujjain's temples we move to the Buddhist heritage of Sanchi, the cave monuments of Udayagiri and Bhimbetka's rock paintings. The itinerary provides material for cultural and educational discussion.

03

The Narmada: Omkareshwar and Maheshwar

Sacred temples, riverside ghats and Maheshwar Fort bring a different landscape to the final days. Time for temple visits and possible rituals is agreed around participants' interests.

PLACES AND EXPERIENCES

Proposed itinerary

The stages below outline a possible route rather than a confirmed departure schedule. Duration, transfers and visits are adapted to the chosen period and the group’s interests.

We fly from Delhi to Goa and settle on the coast. The first part combines beach relaxation, yoga and free time. Organisers may include their own talks and seminars; the number of coastal days is adapted to the group's purpose.

A domestic flight to Indore and transfer to Ujjain. After check-in we explore the city and Mahakaleshwar Temple. This begins the pilgrimage section: interest in religious practices and the conditions for visiting active temples are discussed in advance.

The programme includes Kal Bhairav, Chintaman Ganesh, Sandipani Ashram, Shani Dev and Mangalnath, revealing several strands of local temple tradition. Ritual participation requires separate agreement; cultural visits do not require taking part in ceremonies.

We travel to Bhopal. On arrival we explore the city, check in and leave time for an evening walk. This transfer links the western part of the state's temple centres with archaeological sites around Bhopal.

We visit Sanchi Stupa, the monuments of Vidisha and Udayagiri's cave temples. This rich cultural day spans several historical layers. We return to Bhopal after sightseeing; walking distances and stops are discussed in advance.

On the way to Omkareshwar we stop at Bhimbetka, known for rock shelters and ancient paintings. Afterwards we continue to the Narmada, check in and rest. Transfer time is included in planning the schedule.

A day for Omkareshwar Temple and the local pilgrimage tradition. Participation in a puja can be discussed on request. There is time by the river and space for your own group meetings at a suitable location agreed with the local host.

We travel via Maheshwar to see the Narmada ghats and royal fort. We then continue to Indore and fly to Delhi on the agreed schedule. This concludes the geographical journey from the coast to Central India's rivers.

Transfer to the international flight or an additional programme in the capital. We agree the exact duration, number of nights and connections before booking. The sequence shown here is an example adapted for your group.

Practical notes and preparation

  • The beach section can be shorter or longer. We calculate the overall duration together with domestic flights.
  • The cultural section involves long transfers and walks through temple and archaeological sites.
  • Participation in pujas and other ceremonies is optional; availability and conditions are discussed in advance.
  • For yoga schools we separately select a practice venue and timetable that fit the travel schedule.
