10 days / 9 nights · private group · dates on request

Kathmandu — Patan — Bhaktapur — Bandipur — Pokhara — Kathmandu

Phewa Lake and Himalayan peaks in Pokhara, Nepal

A journey with substance

Incense rises above Kathmandu’s temple roofs. In Bhaktapur, a potter’s wheel continues a conversation begun generations ago. Bandipur changes the scale of the journey: a ridge-top street, a shared meal and a trail through the hills. In Pokhara, the mountain horizon gives you a reason to open the curtains before sunrise.

These experiences form a coherent ten-day journey. Cultural days alternate with time in nature, travel days have space of their own, and encounters and walks can be tailored to the group. Discover Nepal through the ways people live, create, practise their traditions and look towards the mountains.

This is an itinerary concept for a tailor-made journey, rather than a confirmed departure. Dates, accommodation, transport, visits and guiding arrangements are checked with the local operator and specified in your individual proposal.

Three threads of the journey

Living culture, seen up close

Boudhanath and Swayambhu, the royal squares of Patan and Bhaktapur, workshops and local food. Your guide connects architecture, daily life and tradition. Meetings with craftspeople are arranged in advance.

Two nights in Bandipur

This historic town on the way to Pokhara becomes a destination in its own right. Explore its streets and hill views, walk in the surroundings and share an evening together, with the option to include a session led by your group’s host.

The Himalayan horizon at your own pace

Pokhara, Phewa Lake and a visit to the Sarangkot viewpoint. An optional foothill walk with a local guide adds another perspective. Distance and ascent are chosen for the group; clouds and visibility remain part of mountain weather.

Who this journey is for

For communities, small private groups and travellers interested in culture and nature. A rewarding introduction to Nepal, a journey with your own host, or a shared experience with room for meaningful conversation. Group size, guiding language and service level are agreed before we prepare a quotation.

Your 10 days in Nepal

Kathmandu: 3 + 1 nights · Bandipur: 2 nights · Pokhara: 3 nights

Open a day for details. The order of visits is refined when your journey is planned.

Airport welcome and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and recover from the journey; an early arrival may allow a short neighbourhood walk. A welcome meeting introduces the route, the group’s interests and etiquette at religious sites. In the evening, discover Nepali food over a shared meal that sets the tone for the trip.

Overnight in Kathmandu. Activities depend on your arrival time.

Explore Boudhanath and Swayambhu with your guide. Beyond their familiar symbols lie different communities, rituals and city stories. Observe life around the sacred sites, learn about local etiquette and find places for photography and conversation. The day allows for lunch and transfers, with the evening available for your own plans.

Overnight in Kathmandu. Taking part in religious practices is optional.

Spend a day among royal squares, temple silhouettes and craft neighbourhoods. In Patan, notice the details in stone, metal and wood; in Bhaktapur, explore brick streets and pottery areas. A pre-arranged workshop visit can bring the maker’s work into focus, beyond the finished object.

Overnight in Kathmandu. The order of the two cities and the amount of walking are agreed with your guide, taking road conditions and group interests into account.

Leave the Kathmandu Valley for Bandipur. This day belongs to the journey: changing scenery, rest stops and lunch as the city gives way to the hills. No distant excursions are scheduled after the drive. Once settled in, explore the historic street and, if time allows, take a short walk to a nearby view.

Overnight in Bandipur. The transfer takes a substantial part of the day; timing depends on traffic, weather and road conditions.

Begin with a walk through the town and an introduction to its architecture. Then choose a suitable route through the surrounding hills or a cultural encounter. The afternoon leaves room for a group conversation, individual exploration or a session with your own host. Two nights give Bandipur a place in the journey beyond a roadside stop.

Overnight in Bandipur. Village visits and personal encounters take place only by arrangement with local residents.

After breakfast, continue to Pokhara. Settle in and discover the shore of Phewa Lake, where the journey opens into a wider landscape. A boat outing with a local operator may be arranged in suitable conditions. Choose dinner with a view or a lakeside walk in the evening; activities depend on your actual arrival time.

Overnight in Pokhara. The boat outing, its duration and whether it is included in the quotation are agreed separately.

If the weather is favourable, visit Sarangkot at sunrise. Give the panorama your attention: changing light on the ridgelines and a new sense of distance. Return for breakfast, then explore another side of Pokhara through its older neighbourhoods, local food or a museum chosen for the group. A different schedule is available for those who prefer to skip the early start.

Overnight in Pokhara. Mountain visibility and sunrise colours cannot be guaranteed; activities may be reordered.

Keep one day flexible. For those who enjoy walking, we can arrange a foothill route with a local guide, agreeing the trail, distance and ascent in advance. Alternatively, choose cultural activities in Pokhara, time at the hotel and a session with your group’s host. In the evening, reflect on the experiences that mattered and what you would like to take home beyond photographs.

Overnight in Pokhara. A guest host, a dedicated venue and any permits required for the chosen trail are confirmed in the proposal.

Plan a domestic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. The day is reserved for returning and allowing logistical margin; the main cultural visits have already taken place at the start of the journey. If the schedule permits, there is time for shopping, a chosen museum or a final dinner. The international departure follows a separate night in Kathmandu.

Overnight in Kathmandu. Domestic flights depend on weather and schedules. Contingency time, a road alternative and service-change conditions are checked before booking.

Breakfast and an airport transfer timed to your international departure. To extend the journey, discuss additional nights, a separate Kathmandu Valley stay or another itinerary in Nepal in advance. Any extension becomes a separately agreed part of the programme.

The base concept is 10 days and 9 nights. The final duration depends on your flights and confirmed logistics.

One route, shaped by your interests

For a community

A shared route, cultural encounters and room for conversation. Balance sightseeing, walks and group evenings around your members’ interests.

With your own host

Sessions or discussions led by your own host can be included in Bandipur and Pokhara. Venue, schedule, equipment and the host’s participation are agreed separately.

For a private group

Tailor the duration, accommodation, meals and number of visits. Add more time in nature, focus on a particular craft or make room for individual exploration.

Pace, season and comfort

When to travel

For an initial proposal, consider October–November or March–April. Exact dates take weather, festivals, hotel availability and group interests into account. Travel in another season requires its own adjustments.

Where to stay

We select hotels in your chosen category in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and characterful accommodation in Bandipur after checking the facilities you need. Rooms, meals, air conditioning, accessibility and transport are specified in the proposal. Named properties follow a check of your dates.

Activity level

City walks include steps, uneven surfaces and uphill sections. Choose a suitable level of activity for the nature day or a cultural alternative. The base concept does not include high-altitude trekking; individual limitations are discussed before selecting the programme.

What your proposal will specify

Your individual proposal specifies nine nights’ accommodation, ground transfers along the route, the Pokhara–Kathmandu flight, guiding and the list of entrance tickets. Meals, boating, the nature day, hosted sessions and guiding language are agreed separately. Only services expressly listed in the confirmed proposal are included.

What is considered separately

International flights, visa expenses, insurance, personal purchases, tips, single-room accommodation and additional activities are priced separately unless your proposal states otherwise. Document, insurance and permit requirements are checked for your nationality, dates and the activities actually selected.

How to get a quotation

Price is quoted individually. Season, group size, hotels, transport, guiding language and hosted activities all affect the cost. We first clarify your plans, then prepare an itinerary and proposal setting out services and participation terms.

Before you enquire

You can enquire about joining a group. We will check whether a suitable group is forming or discuss a private option. An enquiry does not confirm a place; this concept currently has no fixed departure or open group allocation.

The main programme combines transfers, cultural visits and walks. The base concept does not assume sporting experience, but city visits involve steps and slopes. The nature day is chosen to suit the group and can be replaced with another activity.

The published programme is an itinerary concept. Hotels, guides, hosts, encounters and venues are confirmed for your dates. Evgenia Maslova or another author can take part only by separate agreement.

Yes. Adjust the duration, add nights or change the balance of culture and nature. Chitwan, Lumbini, a dedicated retreat or a multi-day trek can be considered as separate extensions requiring additional time and their own quotation.

The guide and local team may reorder visits and walks. Contingency time and a road alternative for domestic flights, as well as alternatives to mountain viewpoints, are discussed beforehand. Conditions for additional costs and service changes are agreed before booking.

Let us shape Nepal for your group

Tell us your group size, preferred dates and interests. We will shape a suitable itinerary and prepare an individual quotation.
